1The standard
The app is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1, at level AA. This extends WCAG 2.0 level AA, on which the Israeli standard IS 5568 is based, the standard that regulation 35 of Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013 refers to.
No full audit by an accessibility expert has been done yet, so we do not claim full conformance with the standard. This statement describes only what exists in the app today.
2What the app does
- Screen readers. Buttons, fields and controls have a name and a role for VoiceOver and TalkBack, in Hebrew, English and Russian. The order of items, categories and lists can be changed without dragging, with the screen reader's "Move up" and "Move down" actions.
- Large text. Text grows with the phone's text size setting, up to a limit: body text up to about 1.75 times, titles up to about 1.35 times. What does not fit wraps to another line rather than being cut off, and sheets scroll when they do not fit on the screen.
- Contrast. Text and control colours meet the level AA contrast ratio, in the light and the dark theme. An automated check fails on any colour that does not.
- Reduced motion. When the phone's "Reduce Motion" setting is on, animations become a plain change, and the words stay.
- Direction and language. Hebrew right to left, English and Russian left to right, following the language chosen in the app.
- Light and dark. The app follows the phone's appearance setting, and light or dark can also be chosen in Settings, under "Appearance".
3This website
The site's pages are plain HTML: each page sets its language and direction, headings follow their levels, the colours are the app's own, everything can be reached with a keyboard, and the pages work on a phone and with browser zoom.
4Known limits
- Text in the app grows only to the sizes above, less than 2 times.
- The app works in portrait only.
- Not every screen has yet been fully checked with VoiceOver and TalkBack, nor with screen reader users.
- The English and Russian text has not yet been checked by native speakers.
We keep improving. If you meet a limit, please tell us about it.
